What’s new in 2027

Posted on 2026-09-28

Hey Flood City fans – here’s the scoop on 2027, everything from our schedule to buying options to blind faith and more. Ready?

A three-day festival

First and most importantly: the festival is back to three days in name as well as practice – Thursday, July 22 through Saturday, July 24! We’re excited to build on the success of our 2025 and 2026 Thursday “Night Zero” free shows by making this move.

Thursday will be bigger and better than ever – we’ll present five artists, and we can’t wait to tell you who! Best of all, Thursday will remain free. We will ticket that day for tracking purposes, and tickets will be available online or at the gate. If you plan to be with us for all three days, please add your free Thursday ticket to your order. The blind faith sale is on as of October 1 — get yours now!

No price increase; hotel packages eliminated; more camping shuttles

Great news — prices will remain the same as in 2026 for 2-day GA and VIP passes, Friday and Saturday single-day tickets, and camping packages.

Hotel packages will not be offered in 2027. We’re just not in the hotel business, folks, and administering these packages has become increasingly challenging for our small staff (and wouldn’t get easier now that the festival is three days). If you know you’re coming, nab your hotel reservation now! The accommodations page has information on area lodging options.

Campers, we heard your feedback loud and clear – so the frequency of camping shuttles to and from Coal Tubin’ and festival grounds is dramatically increasing. They will run every hour, on the hour in 2027, from gates through the final note each day, including Thursday.

Blind faith sale and lineup announcement

As in 2026, we will offer a “blind faith” sale – that is, we will go on sale before the lineup is announced! This sale will take place earlier than ever before, starting on October 1, 2026. If you trust us, buy your tickets during this sale for the best prices we’ll offer! We’ll only sell a certain number of passes at blind faith prices, and the sale won’t last long. So when it starts, hop to it!

Most festivals announce early these days, and we want you to be able to make an educated choice on where to spend your time and money next summer. So we’re moving our usual timeline way up – we’ll announce before the new year. Watch for details on lineup announce date.

Tiered system replaces early-bird

After the blind faith sale concludes, passes will go off sale until the lineup is announced. At that point, a three-tier pricing system will begin.

In this system, blind faith prices are the same as last year’s, Tier 1 prices are the same as last year’s early-bird, and Tier 3 prices match last year’s full price. Again, there is no price increase, just the addition of Tier 2.

Single-day general admission tickets will go on sale when Tier 3 pricing begins, and prices are the same as 2026 — $75/Friday, and $85/Saturday. Free Thursday tickets are available online or at the gate.

As always, single-day VIP tickets will not be available in advance, but you can buy a single-day VIP at the gate or upgrade a single-day GA to VIP if we do not sell out of VIP. Heritage Johnstown membership benefits remain the same (that is, members can buy hard tickets in person at the Heritage Discovery Center when they go on sale and get a free upgrade to VIP, with limits based on membership level).

Afterpay and selling to a known buyer

Thanks to our sponsors, we’re able to keep our ticket prices significantly lower than festivals with comparable lineups – let’s hear it for AmeriServ Bank especially! But we also want to point out that our digital ticketing provider, Flicket, provides an Afterpay option, which means you can pay for your ticket purchase in four equal, interest-free installments. Get them early for the best possible deal!

Plans can change, and that’s okay. If you buy festival tickets but are unable to make it after all, you can use the “Sell to a Known Buyer” feature offered by our digital ticketing provider, Flicket. This lets you sell your ticket(s) to a friend, acquaintance, or even someone you drum up on social media without any possibility of fraud or scam on either side. You arrange the sale at an agreed-upon price (which can’t exceed what you paid), the buyer receives valid, verified ticket(s) in their name, and you get your money back when the sale goes through – all you need is the buyer’s email address. Visit our ticketing page for a step-by-step explanation of how it works.

As a reminder, never buy festival tickets from unknown people on social media that are not secured through Flicket (or an outlet like Cashortrade). Every year we hear from sad people who were scammed – we do our best to delete suspicious comments on Facebook offering tickets, but it can be as futile as stomping ants.

What else is new?

Every year we work hard to improve your festival experience, and 2027 is no exception! We heard your feedback and are working on improvements to our VIP experience and more. We’ll tell you more later – we can’t wait and hope you can’t either!
